Opinions are divided among netizens regarding BLACKPINK's release of 40 songs within a span of 7 years.

On July 7th, a post on a popular online community garnered attention after expressing concern over the perceived lack of songs in BLACKPINK's discography, which currently stands at 40 tracks in their 7-year career. The original poster says these 40 songs include members' solo songs, collab with other artists, and their album songs. As the group's contract renewal is approaching, this post caught much attention online. 

Some of the comments highlighted BLACKPINK's musical excellence while others sided with the original poster expressing their concerns over the limited number of songs. 

"But instead every single album is high quality. It's better to come back with legendary songs like BLACKPINK instead of wasting their image with more frequent comebacks with hits and misses. And regardless, they are the top idol after all."
