"One of the Girls" by BLACKPINK's JENNIE, The Weeknd, and Lily-Rose Depp continues to Perform Strongly on Music Platforms despite the fact that its premiere was announced just a few hours in advance and for the audiences of the series "The Idol" without any type promotion.
Launching on June 23, it marked a huge Spotify debut in its own right with 1.432 million streams on her first day, making it Jennie's biggest streaming debut as a soloist on the platform, surpassing her previous hit "Solo", which was released in 2018. Not only that as "One of The Girl" has currently reached 14 Million streams and Jennie became the sixth kpop soloist with the most monthly Spotify listeners (6.8M) after surpassing BTS's Suga (5M).
Additionally, "One of the Girls" just entered Billboard's R&B Digital Song Sales chart at No. 11, making Jennie the "First Korean soloist" to do so in the chart's history. Given such a feat, Forbes was quick to congratulate the superstar, mentioning the following:
"Jennie's appearance on the chart is noteworthy, as she is the first solo female South Korean musician to achieve this feat, additionally to standing out as a pioneer for female soloists and girl groups. Her return to the Billboard charts with her latest single, "One of the Girls" has been triumphant and has quickly become a bestseller".
"It's still relatively rare for foreign musicians, especially those from countries like South Korea, to score R&B hits in the United States, but Jennie has shown that she's capable of breaking barriers and standing out."
Congratulations to BLACKPINK's JENNIE!
I mean…that’s cool for Jennie I guess but for an artist as big as The Weeknd isn’t that a bit of a flop?
Let’s not pretend that Jennie is the reason it charted though lol
