On June 19, Goo Hye Sun's legal representative from the law firm LIU stated, "There was a dispute over Goo Hye Sun's exclusive contract with her former agency, and an arbitration decision was made in favor of Goo Hye Sun, terminating the contract and confirming its non-existence. The agency was also ordered to compensate Goo Hye Sun for a portion of the expenses incurred in building her YouTube channel. Goo Hye Sun abided by the arbitration decision faithfully. However, she did not receive her appearance fee as she had been deceived by the former agency's CEO, who had promised to distribute the profits."

Goo Hye Sun's legal representative further stated, "If Goo Hye Sun is unable to receive her appearance fee, as decided by the arbitration, and she is burdened with the production costs, the truth becomes distorted." Additionally, Goo Hye Sun's side highlighted that the court, after a lengthy two-and-a-half-year hearing, recognized that Goo Hye Sun's lawsuit was not challenging the arbitration decision or disputing the exclusive contract. While the court acknowledged the existence of a profit-sharing agreement, it did not rule on the profit distribution aspect.

The argument put forth is that if the profit-sharing agreement remains valid, then the profits should be distributed accordingly. On the other hand, if the profit-sharing agreement is terminated, the unpaid performance fee should be paid.

In response, Goo Hye Sun's side emphasized, "We will appeal the ruling of the first trial. We must raise awareness about the abuse of power by former agencies in refusing to pay appearance fees. This unfair practice extends to actors shouldering production costs while the agency retains the copyright and generates profits. Such inequitable behavior must be rectified."

Previously, HB Entertainment had announced, "On June 15, 2023, the Seoul Central District Court dismissed all baseless claims made by the plaintiff (Goo Hye Sun)."
