'Chinese Baidu Bars' for K-pop idols have raised the bar to a higher level in terms of fan support with their expensive birthday projects, promotional activities, and mass pre-orders for albums. These Chinese fan clubs also serve as group order managers for albums, and high sales are indicative of an idol's popularity in China.
On November 28, an updated chart showing the top 20 highest Chinese fansite bulk order album sales was released. The chart lists individual member fansites who placed bulk orders for group albums.
Fansites dedicated to BTS's V, aka Kim Taehyung, ranked in the top three spots. Their purchasing power amounted to $4.7 million USD for 'Map of the Soul: 7,' $3.9 million USD for 'Proof,' and $ 3.2 million USD for 'Map of the Soul: Persona.'
Among girl groups, fansites for aespa's Karina ranked highest at fifth with purchasing power amounting to $3.1 million USD for 'Girls,' followed by IVE's Wonyoung at seventh with $2.5 million USD for 'After LIKE,' then BLACKPINK's Rose at ninth, with $2.2 million USD for 'BORN PINK.'
Taehyung tops the sales chart again! Congratulations!
