According to a report by Ilgan Sports on April 23, singer Jung Joon Young currently owes approximately 300 million KRW (~ $260,000 USD) in damages for breach of contract to his former agency.
Jung Joon Young is currently facing a court trial for numerous cases of distributing illegal hidden camera footage via social platforms, directly violating laws against sexual crimes. But shortly before his criminal scandal broke out this March, Jung Joon Young signed an exclusive contract with entertainment agency MAKEUS Entertainment in January of this year - receiving a contract down payment of 300 million KRW. The contract down payment is said to have encompassed plans between Jung Joon Young and MAKEUS Entertainment to create various music contents, including concerts, event performances, etc.
But in March, immediately after Jung Joon Young's criminal scandal broke out, MAKEUS Entertainment came to an agreement with the singer to cancel the exclusive contract at once.
Regarding this report, MAKEUS Entertainment responded curtly with, "It's difficult for us to present our stance. Please understand. We cannot go into detail regarding this topic."
Meanwhile, Jung Joon Young's first court trial will take place on May 10.
Irony would be JJY getting sexually assaulted in prison and the event being recorded.
