The members planned to end the series in February, however, they ultimately decided to continue the show and stick together.  Chief producer Nam Seung Yong apologized and asked Kim Jong Kook if he would stay on with the show to which he agreed. The two men then met with the other 'Running Man' members, and this is where Kim Jong Kook posed the pivotal question, "Will you guys continue to run?"  With that, they all nodded in unison.  Both Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo were upset and hurt upon hearing the sudden news of the series drawing to a close but they did what was best for the team.

A representative stated, "Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo were quite upset.  However, the big decision was made to continue for all the 'Running Man' fans across the world who supported us until now.  We will resume all filming for 'Running Man.'"

Chief producer, Mr. Nam stated, "Although it was a tough decision to make we hope that many viewers will continue to support the show."

Netizens commented, "Please don't hurt the members' feelings again," "Don't give up," "I want to see the real raw 'Running Man' where they go all savage ripping their name tags."
