Taeyeon posted on her instagram a picture of seven Kakaotalk emoticon characters (including the little alligator) which the netizens have speculated to be Girls' Generation members excluding Jessica and Taeyeon.  She also wrote and hashtagged, "Family picturest, #Support, #Strength, #Friend, #Emoticon, #Kakaotalk, #sone," further adding to netizens' suspicion. Netizens also speculated that Taeyeon was hinting at the departure because of the date of the posting, September 28th, just 2 days before the official news broke out and one day before Jessica's Weibo post.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon has been noted to have left subtle messages in the past, as well; she was speculated to have hinted at various incidents via Instagram and Twitter, which was brought to light after her relationship with EXO's Baekhyun went public. 

Netizens have commented, "Taeyeon's position on Jessica's departure is really ambiguous," and "Girls' Generation's Jessica's departure, was Taeyeon hinting at it?"
