These days, IU has been delighting her fans with tips on dieting based on the methods she personally uses to look slim and fit. She previously talked about the five-day water diet in her 'Ask in a Box' interview. Most recently, she appeared on the October 23 installment of SBS's 'One Night of TV Entertainment.'
On the program, she revealed her reasons for going a diet, "While filming for my drama, I gained a lot of weight." Then, she said that her diet menu consisted of apples, potatoes, and protein drinks. She would divide the three foods into three separate meals a day (i.e., apple for breakfast, potato for lunch, and protein drink for dinner).

IU continued, "I would do about an hour of aerobic exercises, such as climbing stairs, stretching, and doing push-ups."
In relation to her body, she said, "It got better . . . I think it seems more normal now compared to the time I was really thin because I have more meat on my body."
She revealed that what she wanted to eat the most was chicken because it is one of her favorite foods. She also revealed she liked autumn a lot because it made her feel like she could fly even though it also made her feel lonely and unfulfilled.
