Co-Ed's leader Soomi has spoken out against the lip sync accusations that have been the central focus of 5dolls' performance reviews. Their performances of "I Mean You" have led some to believe that aside from Chanmi, the members were lip-syncing to a backing track. Many are speculating that the vocal parts in 5dolls' work were unevenly distributed, with lead vocalist Chanmi absorbing most of the work. Soomi addressed the controversy with the following explanation: "We work extremely hard on stage, so it's upsetting that people think we're lip syncing. 'I Mean You' is a song that's stronger than 'Bbiribbom Bberibbom' and 'Too Late.' The song itself is difficult to sing, but it has an even more complex choreography to go with it. We have to hit the high notes during the chorus with our heads cocked back, and honestly, it's really difficult to do." She continued, "Having to accomplish both at once, our facial expressions sometimes don't look all that pretty. If we were lip syncing on stage, we'd try to look as pretty as possible, but for us, singing is high priority. Even if we don't look that great on screen, we work hard to sing as best as we can. We've been rehearsing all night in order to show improvement, and even once stayed up three nights in a row. Now, my throat is raspy. I hope people realize that we aren't lip syncing and are really singing live." Source: Sports Chosun via Nate
