An alternative school modeled after the fictional Girin Arts High School of KBS's "Dream High" for students dreaming of becoming top stars has been revealed to be in preparation. The director of the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Lee Jae Woong, was recently interviewed by the press and stated, "We are currently in discussion for an alternative school that caters to teens dreaming of becoming celebrities." Despite the school aiming to build character, not skill, plenty of obstacles still stand in its way. Alternative schools are only able to be run through the support of the local government or private school foundations. A discussion for an alternative school specifically catering towards celebrity hopefuls has also never been opened by a government administration. Although interesting, the project is still just an idea of Lee's, and hasn't reached the education ministry quite yet. Another representative of the KOCCA revealed, "The idea to propel such a school came from the government's suggestion of protecting the right to work as well as study for students pursuing celebrity careers. Further details on the creation of such a school have yet to be planned." What are your thoughts on the potential school, its goals, and its intentions? Source + Photos: EDaily via Daum
