Kang Daniel's mother is a special kind of fangirl when it comes to her son.

In a preview for the April 6 episode of the KBS variety program 'Problem Child in House,' he opened up about his mother's unique handling of his celebrity status.

"My mother really, really likes 'celebrity Kang Daniel,'" he explained, acting playfully jealous as her son. "My mom and I will be sitting down and watching television together, and even when she's watching me on TV, she doesn't look at me even though I'm sitting right next to her."

He then added that usually when he is on a television show, his acquaintances will ask him questions about it; however, when his mother watches his apperances, she only talks to herself and never asks him anything about it.

"In the past, my mother went to an exhibition featuring photos of me and ended up leaving with three large ones, revealing her 'Kang Daniel fangirl' side," he continued. "When I told her 'Let's put them away,' she responded, 'But he's awesome. Why?'"

"My mother thinks that 'her son Kang Daniel' and 'celebrity Kang Daniel' are entirely different existences," he added with a laugh.

The idol then showed his close relationship with his mother by directing a sweet message to her, stating, "Thanks to my mom, I was able to make it through my difficult trainee life. Just being able to talk on the phone with her once a week was healing and gave me lots of strength."
