Spring is such a beautiful season, primarily because of the flowers, and it is stunning in Korea. Aside from the remarkable cherry blossoms that bloom during this season, they also have yummy drinks and desserts that look and taste just as beautiful as the season.
Surprisingly, I could not find as many Spring-themed foods this year as compared to the previous years, but they're still pretty good, and it makes me upset that I can't be there this Spring!
Hwajeon
Hwajeon, or flower cake, is a small Korean pan-fried rice cake that is made out of glutinous rice flour, honey, and edible petals from seasonal flowers. They are often eaten during the festivals of Samjinnal, which this year falls on April 22, and on Buddha's Birthday. However, due to the beauty of the flowers, they certainly suit the occasion of Spring.
Gongcha
Any season is boba season, but Gongcha always knows how to keep up with the season. South Korea is known for its sweet strawberries, so how else would you spend the season if not with these yummy red fruits?
Sulbing
This strawberry party might be for Valentine's, but you can also celebrate Spring with these varieties of strawberry desserts! Sulbing might be a dessert store specializing in bingsu, but they also have other things to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Starbucks
If there's one place that never fails to have the yummiest and prettiest season food, it would be Starbucks! Even if you can't find anywhere else that serves seasonal desserts or drinks, you can always go to Starbucks and not be disappointed. Not only do they have this pretty-looking drink, but they also serve a few other menus and the prettiest tumblers and mugs! Check them out by clicking HERE.
