Wang Xiaofei, the ex-husband of the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (Xu Xiyuan), is reportedly planning a luxurious wedding with influencer Ma Xiaomei, who is 18 years his junior. This comes just three months after Barbie Hsu’s sudden passing in February.

According to Chinese media outlets including QQ News, Wang will hold the wedding on May 17th at a hotel in Beijing, with only close family and friends in attendance. The couple is said to have registered their marriage last year.

The venue, which combines traditional Chinese courtyard aesthetics with modern art, will feature custom-made chocolates bearing the couple’s names. Ma Xiaomei is expected to wear a wedding dress adorned with 999 diamonds, highlighting the extravagant nature of the event.

Local media report that the public is especially curious whether Wang’s two children — a 14-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son from his previous marriage to Barbie Hsu — will attend the ceremony. So far, Hsu’s family has not commented on Wang’s upcoming wedding.

Meanwhile, Barbie Hsu’s husband at the time of her death, Koo Jun Yup, was reportedly devastated by her passing. He lost over 7 kilograms and appeared visibly gaunt in public following the tragedy.

Barbie Hsu had married Wang Xiaofei in 2011, but the marriage ended in 2021 amid allegations of domestic violence, alcohol abuse, and verbal abuse from Wang’s mother. Legal disputes continued even after their divorce.

She later rekindled her romance with Koo Jun Yup, whom she had dated 20 years prior, and the two married in 2022. Koo moved to Taiwan after the wedding and became affectionately known as the “nation’s brother-in-law.”

Tragically, during a family trip to Japan earlier this year, Barbie Hsu passed away from pneumonia-related complications. Her ashes were later returned to Taiwan following a cremation in Japan. Wang Xiaofei returned to Taiwan upon hearing the news and was seen with red, tearful eyes, asking reporters to write kindly about his late ex-wife.

However, Wang has been widely criticized for his treatment of Hsu during and after their marriage. He was previously accused of spreading rumors of drug use and infidelity, leading to defamation lawsuits, and was also sued for failing to pay child support.

Barbie Hsu’s private funeral took place on March 15th at Chin Pao San in Taiwan. Only close family members, including Koo Jun Yup, were in attendance. Wang Xiaofei did not attend, reportedly because he was “not invited.”
