As of March 4, Hearts2Hearts has made a significant impact in the K-pop industry with their debut single album, 'The Chase,' released on February 24, 2025. The group, formed by SM Entertainment, consists of eight members: Jiwoo (leader), Yuha, Juun, A-Na, Ian, Ye-on, Carmen, and Stella.

In an exclusive interview with Dazed Korea, the members of Hearts2Hearts opened up about their personalities, the dynamics within the group, and their dreams for the future. Each member’s distinct character shines through, giving fans a deeper understanding of what makes them tick and how they support each other.

A-Na’s unique charm is described as an onion, with layers that reveal themselves over time. “I may seem cold at first, but once you get to know me, I’m more like a puppy,” she says with a smile. 

Though she admits she’s not one to keep her worries to herself, A-Na feels supported by her members, who listen to her and treat her like family. “I’m grateful to my team for always being there for me,” she says, “and I look forward to continuing this journey with them.”

Juun, who took first place at the trainee showcase, opens up about her journey.

"I worked really hard to create an impressive and memorable stage," Juun reflects. "Thankfully, I ended up winning first place, and I’ll never forget the moment when the rankings were announced. I was especially praised for my dance and rap, which was such an honor."

When asked about Juun’s role in Hearts2Hearts, Juun describes her as a solid, reliable presence in the group. "As a member, Juun is like a pillar you can always depend on. If I were to describe myself, I’d say I’m like 'grilled tofu' (laughs). I may appear hard and crispy on the outside, but inside, I’m soft and tender. Juun may seem chic, but I believe she has a gentle charm. She’s also secretly very charming."

Ye-on talks about her charming eye smile and a heartfelt message to fans.

"You have such a pretty eye smile," the interviewer comments.

"I’m really good at making eye smiles," Ye-on responds with a grin. "Whenever the sisters see me doing it, they always react brightly and tell me I’m cute. I think that’s one of my charming points."

As she reflects on the future, Ye-on shares a promise with the fans. "We, Hearts2Hearts, have worked hard, so please look forward to what we’ll show you in the future, and give us lots of love."

Jiwoo reflects on her leadership role and desire to bring happiness to fans.

"Is that so?" Jiwoo laughs when asked about her mature leadership. "Since it’s my first time as a leader, I often worry, 'Am I doing a good job?' But in the end, my team members aren’t much younger than me, and we’re around the same age. We talk a lot, and when we do, we comfortably share our expectations and needs from each other. In that way, I rely on my team members and try to adapt together."

Looking ahead to the future, Jiwoo shares what she wants to offer her fans. "I want to bring them small happiness. I’m the type of person who finds joy in the little things. Whether it’s watching a movie I love or having a conversation with a close friend, those small moments bring me great happiness. I want to share that kind of simple joy with my fans."

Stella opens up about her playful nature and unwavering mindset.

"I’m a bit playful," Stella shares with a smile. "I enjoy making the members laugh. Ian and A-na have similar styles, so the three of us always help lighten the mood."

Reflecting on her role in Hearts2Hearts, Stella shares her guiding philosophy. "In the movie 'Finding Nemo,' there’s a line that says, 'Just keep swimming.' Much like that, I want to maintain a heart that always looks forward, embraces the future, and carries an attitude of continuous growth."

Ian shares his bright energy and love for laughter.

“It feels really bright, even though it’s still morning. Thanks to that, I feel energized,” Ian says, smiling.

When the members first met him, they noted his calm demeanor. "At first, they said I looked really calm. But as we got closer, they said they couldn’t really tell anymore. (Laughs) I guess that’s part of my charm."

Known for his ability to make people laugh, Ian recalls a memorable moment. "It was during a recording for something related to laughter. At the time, everyone was feeling a bit awkward, but when I made a funny face, everyone burst out laughing."

Yuha recalls a memorable moment with the members.

“The one memory that stands out the most is when we were filming the music video during a very cold winter,” Yuha shares. “There were many scenes where we had to run together, and despite the freezing cold, I was so happy in that moment that I completely forgot about the chill.”

When asked to leave a final comment for her first interview, Yuha offers a message to her future self: “I hope you’ll continue to be an artist who works hard and never loses the mindset and original intention you had when you first debuted.”

Carmen shares her warm and radiant personality.

“It’s true! I’ve been told I give off a warm vibe, like sunshine,” Carmen laughs. “I’m like the joy in the movie Inside Out. The members always say I’m smiling 24/7, and I hardly ever cry—it's very rare for me to shed a tear.”

As the oldest member of the team alongside Jiwoo, Carmen reflects on their roles within the group. “When I see Jiwoo, she often feels more like the older sister to me,” Carmen admits. “She’s really smart and takes great care of the members, often saying things like, 'You have to do this' and 'You need to do this too.' As for me, I’m the type to give energy to the members. (Laughs) I want to be someone who brings warmth to both the members and the fans.”

Through their shared laughter, warmth, and dedication, Hearts2Hearts continues to grow stronger together, always looking ahead to what the future holds for them and their fans.
