Anticipation continues to build for the Academy-winning director Bong Joon Ho's latest film 'Mickey 17.'
Based on Edward Ashton's novel 'Mickey 7,' 'Mickey 17' follows the story of a destitute man who signs up for a dangerous job. Mickey Barnes, who has no hopes and prospects on Earth, signs up to become an "expendable" on a new colony planet, taking on dangerous jobs. If he dies on one of the missions, he is cloned after each death, with the memories transferred to a new body.
The story takes a turn of events when Mickey 17, who is thought to have died, returns to the colony and finds that Mickey 18 has already been printed.

This is Bong Joon Ho's newest film in six years since 'Parasite' was released in 2019. 'Mickey 17' has been one of the most anticipated films this year with director Bong's impressive list of credentials, winning three Oscars for 'Parasite,' including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier last month, and already, 'Mickey17' has racked up high reviews, earning 90% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film has already premiered in South Korea, with global release taking place on March 7. Korean netizens are expressing excitement and are also praising the film. They commented:
"After watching it till the end, I wanted to watch it again. It's a movie about love, and the more I think about it, the more I like it."
"It’s fun and keeps lingering in my mind."
"There aren't many movies like this these days, so I really appreciated it. It felt like an animation."
"I left the theater feeling indifferent, but I keep thinking about it. Now I want to watch it again."
"I actually liked that it wasn’t too deep. I found it entertaining. I recommend it!"
"It’s a bit mild for a Bong Joon Ho movie, but I liked the hopeful message. I want to watch it again."
"If you go in expecting a hardcore sci-fi movie, you might be disappointed. But if you remember that he directed Okja, consider the timing of this film, and that Bong Joon Ho studied sociology, it could be interesting."
"I really enjoyed it!"
"It was fun, the acting was great, and it keeps lingering in my mind."
"Totally my style! I’m watching it again."
"Someone above said Robert Pattinson's acting feels like Song Kang Ho’s, and I totally agree. Bong’s overseas films all have foreign actors performing in a very 'Korean' way."
"It’s been days since I watched it, but I still find myself thinking about it. And no, it’s not boring at all—the two and a half hours flew by."
"I loved it so much that I watched it twice, and I think I’ll watch it again. There are so many characters and scenes worth rethinking, making it enjoyable even after multiple viewings."
