Clon’s Koo Jun Yup (DJ Koo) is said to have signed a premarital agreement with the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu.
On February 10, Taiwan’s ET Today reported, “Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu agreed on asset separation before their marriage and transferred a mansion located on the National Art Museum site to Barbie Hsu’s mother.”
However, the media outlet noted that since the agreement was not notarized in court, it is likely to be invalid, and Koo Jun Yup may still inherit Barbie Hsu’s estate.
Barbie Hsu married businessman Wang Xiao Fei in 2011 and had a son and daughter, but divorced in 2021 after 10 years of marriage. She then reunited with her ex-lover Koo Jun Yup in 2022. Their marriage made headlines for their love story spanning over two decades. However, Barbie Hsu tragically passed away on February 2, 2025, while traveling in Japan due to acute pneumonia, at the age of 48.
Barbie Hsu’s estate is estimated to be worth 600 million yuan (approximately 82.1 million USD). She owned multiple properties in Xinyi District, Taipei City, including the National Art Museum site and a penthouse. Her Grandview Residence, purchased in 2011, was reportedly sold for 54.81 million yuan (about 7.5 million USD) in 2020. The National Art Museum site is now valued at about 44.38 million yuan (about 6.1 million USD), and the penthouse at 80.34 million yuan (about 11 million USD).
In the Taiwanese legal community, Barbie Hsu’s estate is believed to be divided equally between her two children from her previous marriage and Koo Jun Yup.Additionally, there is speculation that Koo Jun Yup may lose inheritance and custody rights over the children since he is not their biological father and they did not register their marriage.
Koo Jun Yup commented on the inheritance matter, saying, “The estate was accumulated through Barbie Hsu’s hard work to protect her beloved family, so I plan to leave all authority regarding the inheritance to my mother-in-law.” He also added, “I will take legal action through a lawyer to ensure that the children’s rights are protected until they become adults, preventing any malicious people from interfering.”
