A Korean drama that caused a stir online due to leaked photos of the lead actors kissing is now raising viewers' expectations ahead of its first broadcast, having released a highlight video.
tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama 'My Dearest Nemesis' is the sequel to the drama 'The Queen Who Crowns.'
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name by writer Yang Hye Jin, the drama depicts the romance between Baek Soo Jeong (played by Moon Ga Young), the team leader of the "Department Head Killer" who suffers from a dark past, and Ban Ju Yeon (played by Choi Hyun Wook), a third-generation chaebol who harbors the black dragon within his heart. The cast includes Moon Ga Young, Choi Hyun Wook, Lim Se Mi, and Kwak Si Yang.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the drama is the chemistry between Moon Ga Young and Lim Se Mi. The two previously worked together in the 2020 drama 'True Beauty' as sisters, receiving much love for their realistic portrayal. Fans are eager to see what kind of chemistry they will showcase as friends in this new romantic comedy.
There are also notable differences from the original webtoon. In the webtoon, the male lead starts as a middle school student who moves to Seoul for college and lives in the house of the female lead’s father. However, the drama adaptation reimagines this into an office setting, transforming the plot into an office drama rather than a boarding house narrative.
The drama also introduces new storylines as the diverse incidents between the two main characters are now set in an office environment, sparking curiosity about how the story will unfold.
In January, a set of kissing photos of the lead actors Moon Ga Young and Choi Hyun Wook were leaked, causing a buzz in online communities. Some viewers speculated that the leak was intentional for promotional purposes, but the production team clarified, stating, "We regret that the four photos of the two actors were unintentionally leaked. We hope viewers are excited to see the chemistry between the actors in the drama."
The highlight video, released on February 11, shows Baek Soo-jeong furious at her first love, Ban Ju-yeon, who she regards as her worst past. The two later reunite in real life as boss and subordinate, and as Baek Soo Jeong learns of Ban Ju Yeon's double life, unexpected events begin to unfold. Unbeknownst to them, they both remember each other as the worst first love, and their relationship gradually deepens, sparking the public's curiosity.
Meanwhile, tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'My Dearest Nemesis' will premiere on February 17 at 8:50 PM.
