On February 16, the Seongdong Police Station reported that Kim Sae Ron was found collapsed in her home. Her friend discovered the actress and called the police, but Kim Sae Ron tragically passed away at the young age of 24. There were no signs of foul play or a suicide note.

The late actress had recently expressed her desire to return to acting, making her passing all the more heartbreaking. A close acquaintance of Kim Sae Ron revealed to OSEN, "The last time I saw Kim Sae Ron was at the end of last year." They mentioned that they had been discussing her comeback to acting, and Kim Sae Ron had been excited about returning through the movie 'Guitar Man' and hoped to earn money through acting. "I didn’t think it would turn out like this," the acquaintance expressed with deep sorrow.

One of the factors that must have contributed to her tragic end was the overwhelming number of malicious comments. Kim Sae Ron had been embroiled in various controversies during her lifetime, making a return to acting difficult.

In February 2014, a photo of Kim Sae Ron with her friends surfaced, featuring a wine bottle and additional images of alcohol and cigarettes, which sparked controversy. Kim Sae Ron was a middle school student at the time, leading to issues over underage drinking and smoking. Then, in May 2022, she made headlines again when she was involved in a drunk driving accident, facing criticism once more. Her driver's license was revoked, and she withdrew from activities for a period of self-reflection.

Despite the battle with malicious comments online, Kim Sae Ron didn’t give up on her desire to return to acting. However, many speculate that the public's cold view of her ultimately led to her passing, as she couldn’t overcome the hardships she faced.

Amid all this, what remains especially touching are the memories of her acts of kindness. Her social media feeds, especially those where she shared her efforts in caring for stray dogs and cats, capture her heartwarming spirit. Kim Sae Ron once posted, "I recently volunteered for stray dogs and cats. They're so sweet and beautiful, but it's hard to care for them properly with a lack of help. I hope more people will show interest."

She continued to post about her volunteer work, saying, "Please give them your warm support and attention. Don’t buy pets, adopt them. They’re so beautiful." She also expressed concern, saying, "As the weather gets hotter, I worry about the dogs enduring the summer. I hope these beautiful animals find loving families soon."

Despite the world's harsh judgment, Kim Sae Ron continued to spread love. Her short 24 years are all the more heartbreaking because of this.

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron’s funeral service is being held in Room 7 of the Seoul Asan Hospital in Songpa-gu, Seoul. In her portrait, she remains at the bright and beautiful age of 24. Her father, mother, and younger sibling, who is also an actor, are listed as the bereaved family, and the funeral will take place on the morning of the 19th at 6:20 AM. The burial location has not yet been determined.
