BLACKPINK member Jennie has opened up about her concerns as she prepares for her comeback.
On January 30, a video featuring Jennie as a guest was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Ssook Ssook.'
In the video, Jennie appeared as the first guest of Ssook Ssook and shared, "I’ve been preparing this album for a year. I’ve worked hard on the music. But the world has changed so much. These days, just releasing a song doesn’t mean people will listen to it."
She continued, "So much content is coming out from everywhere. I want to do what my fans like, but I don’t know what that is. I have meetings with my company every day. There are so many younger generation artists now, and I find it hard to understand their style."
The Ssook Ssook production team suggested doing a dance challenge as a way to promote her new song. However, Jennie expressed her disappointment, saying, "I’ve never properly done a challenge before. No one has ever asked me to do one with them."
She then asked, "I’m really curious—how do they all exchange challenges like that?" The production team explained, "A lot of them happen in the hallways of music show waiting rooms."
Jennie laughed and responded, "Every time I go, there’s no one in the hallway. Am I just going on days when no one is there? I was hoping someone would ask me to do one together, but no one ever did," expressing her feelings of being left out.
Meanwhile, Jennie is set to release her new song Love Hangover on January 31t, followed by her first full solo album 'Ruby' on March 7.
