A new media outlet report by Money Today on April 25 KST has raised the argument that Kim Soo Hyun did not date the late actress Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor. The reported claimed that Kim Soo Hyun in fact dated an idol-turned-actress between 2017-2019, including when he was carrying out his mandatory military service, citing this as "proof" that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron did not date during that time. 

Previously, based on KakaoTalk messages revealed by the late Kim Sae Ron's side, Kim Sae Ron claimed that she dated Kim Soo Hyun between late 2015 and July of 2021, including when she was still a minor. 

But according to Money Today, Kim Soo Hyun was actually in a relationship with an idol-turned-actress known as 'A', beginning in late 2016 until around spring of 2019. Kim Soo Hyun and 'A' became acquainted due to the fact that they were under the same agency at the time. It's known that the two stars were involved in multiple dating scandals in the past. Among those in the entertainment industry, Kim Soo Hyun's relationship with 'A' was in fact an "open secret". 

One industry insider commented, "It's well-known that Kim Soo Hyun and 'A' dated between 2017-2019. Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron then dated between 2019-2020."

Money Today further claimed that it was highly unlikely that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron dated for 6 years between 2015-2021, because it was known among well-informed industry insiders that Kim Sae Ron dated different partners in 2016, 2018, and 2021. The news outlet alleged that Kim Sae Ron dated singer WOODZ in 2021 and made no attempt to hide this fact from those around her. 

Moreover, Money Today pointed to alleged "flaws" in the evidence publicized by Kim Sae Ron's side and the YouTube channel HOVERLAB. Echoing the position of Kim Soo Hyun's side, the news outlet claimed that the thus far exposed photos of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were not taken in 2016 but after 2019, and that in other photos, the unidentified male individual spotted with Kim Sae Ron was not Kim Soo Hyun. 

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun was publicly involved in dating scandals with former Wonder Girls member Sohee in 2015 and again in 2017.
