As the family of the late MBC weathercaster Oh Yoanna claimed workplace bullying as the cause of her death, the video of her episode on 'You Quiz on the Block' has been taken down.

According to an OSEN report on January 30, episode 170 of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' is no longer available for replay on the OTT platform TVING. This episode featured three terrestrial TV weathercasters—Bae Hye Ji, Nam Yu Jin, and Oh Yoanna—and Professor Kim Bung Nyeon and actor Son Suk Goo.

Not only has the episode been removed from replay services, but all clips of Oh Yoanna’s appearance on video platforms such as YouTube and Naver TV have also been deleted. Only the talk segments featuring Son Suk Goo and Professor Kim Bung Nyeon remain available.

However, it has been confirmed that the removal of the episode was not due to the recent workplace bullying allegations. The replay was taken down just a few days after Oh Yoanna's passing was reported on December 10 of last year, and there is currently no decision on whether it will be reinstated.

During her appearance on 'You Quiz on the Block,' Oh Yoanna shared why she became a weathercaster, saying, “Ever since I was little, I always thought it would be amazing to be on TV.” She also revealed that she had once trained as an idol trainee but found it too difficult. She confessed, “I wondered if I really had to go through all this. I cried every day as a trainee.” 

After the episode gained attention, she expressed her gratitude on her personal social media account, writing, “It was a great honor to introduce the profession of a weathercaster. This is a precious memory for me because I still have so much to learn. Thank you to the production team and my senior colleagues. I will continue to learn humbly and work hard. Please support me next year as well.”

Meanwhile, as workplace bullying allegations regarding Oh Yoanna’s death continue to surface, Maeil Shinmun reported on January 27 that a 17-page suicide note was found on her unlocked phone.

According to the report, the note detailed bullying incidents involving two specific weathercasters. One senior colleague allegedly blamed Oh Yoanna for their own broadcasting mistakes, while another criticized her for correcting incorrect weather information, saying, “How dare a junior point out a senior’s mistake?”

As the controversy grew, MBC released an official statement addressing the workplace bullying allegations. The network stated, “What we can confirm for certain is that while the deceased was working as a freelancer, she never reported any concerns to the relevant departments (the HR counseling office in the management support department or the Clean Center in the audit department) or to any of the supervisors she worked with.”

MBC added, “We take workplace bullying extremely seriously. If we receive any complaints from freelancers or cast members, we immediately launch an investigation. If the bereaved family requests an inquiry based on the newly discovered suicide note, MBC is prepared to start a fact-finding investigation as soon as possible.”

On January 29, KBS reported that Oh Yoanna's family filed a lawsuit last month, claiming that the deceased had endured workplace bullying for the past two years. The lawsuit is based on text messages and phone conversations that the deceased had with a colleague before her passing.
