On January 28, Minnie of the girl group (G)I-DLE clarified rumors about her family’s wealth in a video posted on the YouTube channel CU. The video, titled Minnie and Miyeon’s Honest Talk: Revealing the Truth About Each Other, featured the two members engaging in candid conversation.

During the talk, Minnie brought up the topic of rumors labeling her as a Thai heiress. Speculations about her family’s wealth had circulated online, with netizens pointing to photos of her parents’ luxurious Thai mansion shared on her Instagram as evidence.

Addressing the rumors, Minnie said, “We do live comfortably, but my parents didn’t fully support me financially. I don’t rely on their money.” Miyeon chimed in, teasing, “But your lyrics in MY BAG talk about being rich. Isn’t that your concept?” Minnie responded, “Soyeon wrote those lyrics. I always say I need money. I act according to the song’s concept, but in reality, I need money too,” she joked, pretending to be emotional.

When Miyeon added, “Even if you have money, humans always need more,” Minnie playfully fired back, “How can anyone not need money?” She then struck a pose of counting cash, laughing as she said, “I need a lot of money,” lightening the mood.

Minnie recently made her solo debut with her first mini-album 'HER' on January 21 and is currently promoting her new music. Her honest and humorous take on the rumors has endeared her even more to fans, who continue to support her both as a group member and a solo artist.
