Netflix’s hit reality dating show, Single's Inferno, will return for its fourth season on January 14, 2025.
'Single's Inferno' is a fiery dating reality show where singles are stranded on a remote island called 'Inferno,' and the only way to escape is to form a couple. Since its first season in 2021, the show has become one of Netflix’s most popular non-English reality programs, captivating viewers worldwide every year.
The show made history with its first season, becoming the first Korean variety show to break into Netflix's Global Top 10 TV Shows (Non-English) chart shortly after its release. Season 2 continued the streak, remaining in the Top 10 for four consecutive weeks, recording an impressive total of 65.08 million cumulative viewing hours.
Season 3 shook things up with bold new rules and unpredictable relationship dynamics, drawing an even more passionate response from viewers. The season stayed in the Global Top 10 (Non-English) TV Shows for five weeks, ranking in the Top 10 in 31 different countries.
Notably, each season of 'Single's Inferno' has propelled new stars into the spotlight, including Song Ji Ah, Cha Hyun Seung, Dex (Kim Jin Young), Shin Seul Ki, Lee Kwan Hee, Yoon Ha Jeong, and Choi Hye Sun, all of whom became viral sensations.
As the first Korean variety series on Netflix to reach a fourth season, 'Single's Inferno' has sparked unprecedented excitement and anticipation.
Kim Jae Won, the show's producer and director, shared his gratitude for the show's milestone. He shared, "Thanks to the love and support of our viewers, we've made it to the fourth season. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to tune in each time a new season drops." He added with ambition, "Since we’ve made it this far, I’d like to aim for Season 10 and become Korea’s longest-running dating show."
The teaser poster and preview video for the new season have already heightened viewer anticipation. The teaser trailer raises the stakes with its intense narration, “Love is a brutal survival game,” while scenes show cast members fiercely competing for the coveted “ticket to paradise,” signaling more intense couple-matching battles than ever before.
In a new twist, 'Single's Inferno' revealed that it used street casting for Season 4 in search of fresh, attractive participants. In previous seasons, contestants were scouted primarily through social media.
Producer Kim Jae Won explained the process, saying, "To be honest, compared to other dating shows, it feels like Single's Inferno places a greater emphasis on visuals." He revealed that the scouting team actively searched for contestants on social media but noted, "It’s rare for people to look exactly like their social media photos when we meet them in person, so we focused on those who matched their online presence."
This time, the team took a more active approach by hitting the streets for casting. Kim Jae Won continued, "We asked for phone numbers if we saw someone who seemed like a good fit." He also revealed a funny behind-the-scenes moment: "One morning, the writer team scouted someone, and later that afternoon, the production team scouted the same person — and that person ended up being cast on the show."
Pleased with the results, Producer Kim confidently stated, "I think it was a great decision to do street casting." With the promise of fresh, charismatic new faces, expectations are higher than ever for the upcoming season of 'Single's Inferno.'
