On December 10th, several posts appeared in an online community for single mothers, showing photos of the donated kimchi and expressing gratitude to IU for her support.
IU is widely known as a philanthropic figure in the entertainment industry. Her reported donations exceed 6 billion won (approximately $4.5 million), and she is known for carefully verifying the donation recipients and purposes of her contributions.
IU has also supported the school she attended, Dongduk Girls' High School, by providing scholarships.
