According to reports by Sports Seoul on the 12th, broadcasters Kim Sung Joo and Ahn Jung Hwan will return as hosts for Season 2 of JTBC’s 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator.' The two previously hosted Season 1 together, bringing their unique chemistry and humor to the show.
'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' originally aired from November 2014 to November 2019, becoming a hit as top chefs competed to create dishes within 15 minutes using ingredients from celebrity guests' refrigerators. The show led the “cooking show” trend, becoming a major cultural phenomenon.
Around 20 renowned chefs, including Lee Yeon Bok, Sam Kim, Kim Poong, Oh Se Deuk, Raymond Kim, Jung Ho Young, and Yoo Hyun Soo, competed over the years, preparing dishes for 257 guest stars and capturing viewers’ hearts. At the height of the show’s popularity, the featured chefs’ restaurants saw massive demand, similar to Netflix’s recent hit, 'Chef’s Table.'
After a five-year break, 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator 2' will return with the original production team, including PD Lee Chang Woo and writer Kang Yoon Jung, along with a fresh lineup of chefs.
Choi Kang Rok, the winner of 'Master Chef Korea' Season 2, is confirmed to join, as is Edward Lee, who graduated from NYU and won the global cooking competition 'Iron Chef' in 2010. Kim Poong, who made a strong impression in the original season, will also return.
'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator 2' will begin filming in November, with its premiere scheduled for December.
