#JIMIN achieves new records for a Korean Soloist in two top music markets, the USA & the UK with 'WHO'
In BTS' Chapter 2, Jimin has established himself as a global favorite and a respected name in the international music industry. His impressive talent, captivating stage presence, and unique vocal color have made a significant impact, positioning him as one of the most successful Korean solo artists both locally and internationally.
Jimin’s solo music has reached remarkable heights, achieving milestones never before realized by any Korean solo artist, particularly in two of the world’s largest music markets: the United States and the United Kingdom. His accomplishments in these highly competitive markets highlight his growing influence, especially considering his solo debut was only about two years ago.
As of the Spotify charts update on November 3, Jimin’s single "WHO" became the most-streamed song by a Korean or K-pop act on the Spotify USA Daily Top Songs chart, surpassing "One of the Girls," a collaboration featuring Jennie, The Weeknd, and Lily-Rose Depp. "WHO" achieved this milestone in just 108 days, accumulating over 172 million streams on the chart.
Additionally, 'WHO' also extended its record as the longest-charting song by a Korean solo artist on the Billboard streaming songs chart in this decade, having spent 15 weeks on the chart, while also becoming one of the two 2nd longest charting songs by Korean acts of all time on the said chart as it ties his own group's BTS' 'Dynamite'. Notably, 'WHO' is the first and only song by a Korean or K-pop solo artist to spend its first 15 weeks of release within the Top 50 of this chart. It is now only 2 weeks away from clinching the title as the longest running song by a Korean/K-pop act on the chart this decade.
Jimin has had a wildly impressive record breaking streak in the USA with his sophomore album, and here are some more of the achievements he has claimed thus far:
• Most Streamed K-SOLOIST (Jimin) • Most Streamed Song by a K-ACT (Who) • Most Streamed Album by a K-SOLOIST (MUSE) • First & Only Solo Song by a K-SOLOIST At #1 on Daily Chart (Who) • Longest Charting Song by a K-ACT in Top 10 of Daily Chart (Who - 93 Days) • Longest Charting Song by a K-ACT in Top 10 of Weekly Chart (Who - 14 Weeks) • Longest Charting Album by a K-SOLOIST in Top 15 of Album Chart (MUSE - 7 Weeks) • Biggest Streamed Song by a K-ACT on Daily Chart (Who - 2.19Million) • Biggest Streamed Song by a K-ACT on Weekly Chart (Who - 13.95Million) • Longest Charting Korean song / Longest Charting Song by a K-SOLOIST (Like Crazy - 269 Days) • Longest Charting Korean Song / Longest Charting Song by a K-SOLOIST (Like Crazy - 38 Weeks)
The triumph streak is no different in the UK, where 'WHO' has just recently been announced as having been BRIT Certified Silver for selling over 200k units in the country.
'WHO' achieved this incredible milestone in a record 105 days only since its release, making it the fastest song by a Korean solo artist in history to achieve a BRIT Silver certification.
In addition, 'WHO' has also become the 4th longest charting song by a K-pop soloist on the UK Official Singles Chart with 15 weeks on the chart and counting.
