Fans of ASTRO member and actor Cha Eun Woo have launched a truck protest demanding his agency take action against ongoing baseless defamation.
On April 21(KST), a group of Cha Eun Woo’s fans staged a truck protest in front of Fantagio's headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul. The truck’s LED screen displayed messages such as:
“Take strong action against the baseless slander targeting Cha Eun Woo,” and
“Protect the artist and support his individual activities and long-term growth.”
The protest comes as malicious rumors and defamatory comments against Cha Eun Woo have recently surged online.
After the tribute song “A Letter in the Wind” (also referred to as “In the Dream”), featuring 22 close friends of the late ASTRO member Moonbin, was released on April 19, some online users accused Cha Eun Woo and Fantagio of “using the deceased for profit.” These claims sparked outrage among fans.
Another rumor that spread last month claimed that Cha Eun Woo only sent flowers and did not attend the funeral of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. This was later confirmed to be false.
In response, Cha Eun Woo’s fans stated:
“Since his debut nine years ago, Cha Eun Woo has never taken legal action, and as a result, malicious attacks and groundless rumors have only worsened. We demand the agency take firm measures to protect him.”
