A representative of Law Firm Dongjin, representing actor Yoo Ah In (given name Uhm Hong Sik), has stepped up with an official statement.
The legal rep told media outlets on July 26 KST, "The recent charges made against Yoo Ah In are completely false. Please refrain from making unnecessary speculations about the actor's private life."
Earlier, various media outlets reported that Yoo Ah In was booked on charges of sexually assaulting a male individual, 'A' (30 years old). According to existing South Korean laws, charges of sexual assault involving the same sex cannot be considered rape.
During the initial questioning, the accuser underwent a urine test for illegal drugs, which returned negative. The police will soon call in the accused (Yoo Ah In) for questioning, proceeding with the possibility that the accused was under the influence of drugs when the incident occurred.
