This past sunny Saturday, as many ventured outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather, a captivating sight was reported around the Gyeongpo Lake area in Gangneung. A strikingly handsome young man, tall and perfectly suited in athletic wear, was seen running, drawing the attention of many onlookers. This young man was none other than singer and actor Cha Eun-woo, who was participating in the '2024 TNF 100 Gangwon', a global trail running competition hosted by the outdoor brand The North Face.
Cha Eun-woo, known for his overwhelming presence and trendy charm, has been serving as a brand ambassador for The North Face since last August. His participation in the trail running event not only highlighted his athletic prowess but also his enduring popularity among fans of all ages. The event itself is part of a series held across various countries including South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, and Singapore, making it one of the largest of its kind initiated by a single brand since its inception in Korea in 2016.
The course was designed to showcase the stunning landscapes of Gangwon Province, including seaside and sky-high paths, offering participants the unique allure of trail running. The event featured distances of 10km, 50km, and 100km, attracting about 2,000 participants from both domestic and international fronts. Among them, Kim Ji-sub, a member of The North Face Athlete Team, clinched the men's 100km title with a time of 10 hours, 58 minutes, and 56 seconds, while Park Ji-young won the women's category with a time of 14 hours, 28 minutes, and 31 seconds.
