The main cast of "Veteran 2- I, The Executioner," featuring Hwang Jung-min, Jung Hae-in, and director Ryu Seung-wan, are enjoying a leisurely afternoon in Cannes as they prepare for the official screening of their movie at the Cannes Film Festival.

On May 20th, the official CJ ENM MOVIE SNS account posted several photos with a caption stating, "The Veterans have landed on the splendid Cannes soil. News of 'Veteran 2-I, The Executioner' has been spotted around the 77th Cannes International Film Festival."

Among the shared photos, the one that caught the most attention shows director Ryu Seung-wan and actors Hwang Jung-min and Jung Hae-in sitting on chairs in front of the Cannes beach, all smiles. After departing from Incheon Airport in casual attire the day before, they switched to suits to fulfill their local schedule upon arrival in Cannes.

This visit marks director Ryu Seung-wan's first return to Cannes in 19 years since his 2005 film "Crying Fist." He also visited the CJ ENM market, taking a commemorative photo with actress Yoona in front of his production company's booth, promoting their film "The Devil Moved In."

Hwang Jung-min is visiting Cannes for the first time since 2018's "The Spy Gone North," and for Jung Hae-in, it is his debut at the festival. The trio is taking in the atmosphere of Cannes while lightly handling their local schedules before the official screening.

Directed by Ryu Seung-wan and starring Hwang Jung-min and Jung Hae-in, "Veteran 2" is an action-crime thriller about Detective Seo Do-cheol, who relentlessly pursues criminals. The newest addition to his Serious Crime Unit is the youngest detective, Park Sun-woo, played by Jung Hae-in, as they track down a notorious serial killer. This sequel to the 2015 blockbuster "Veteran," which drew over 13.41 million viewers nationwide, will have its world premiere at the Midnight Screening section of this year's Cannes Film Festival on the night of May 21st at 12:30 AM local time.

Following its premiere in Cannes, the domestic release schedule for "Veteran 2" will be confirmed.
