The casting for the much-anticipated series "Project Y" has been finalized with actors Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo stepping into the lead roles. Climax Studio announced on April 29 that the duo would star in the new noir series set in the affluent district of Gangnam, Seoul.
The storyline revolves around two friends of the same age who plot to steal a gold bullion worth eight billion and plan their ultimate escape.
Han So-hee, known for her commanding presence in the Netflix series 'Kyeongseong Creature' and 'My Name', and Jeon Jong-seo, acclaimed for her powerful performances in the film 'Burning', Netflix's 'The Call', and the Tving series 'The Price of Fame', are generating buzz for their first on-screen pairing. The real-life friends will portray characters that mirror their off-screen camaraderie, heightening anticipation for their chemistry and unique portrayal in the series.
The project is spearheaded by director Lee Hwan, recognized for his provocative subjects and intense directing in films such as 'Park Hwa-young' and 'Adults Don't Understand'. With Lee at the helm, there is considerable excitement about the new dimensions he will bring to Korean cinema with this project.
Production is being handled by Climax Studio alongside Wowpoint. Climax Studio has a track record of producing high-quality, globally successful projects, including the Netflix series 'Hellbound', 'D.P.', and 'Parasyte: The Grey', as well as films like 'Concrete Utopia' and 'Soulmate'.
