Mnet's 'M! Countdown' is undergoing changes for 2024.
The music show is making changes with the goal to appeal to K-pop fans globally with a new weekly charting system. While the old charting system factored in domestic digital charges, global digital charts, album charts, social media views, pre-votes on Mnet World, live votes on Mnet World, and broadcast, the new system will include social media trends like short-form video as well as equal weight on domestic and overseas charts to calculate scores.
'M! Countdown' is further introducing content segments that features new music, trending performances and images, and popular entertainment topics. The actual space for idol stars to interact with the audience is also changing from just the studio to the external lobby, where comeback interviews and mini fan meetings will take place. New audience seating will also be available on the second floor to accommodate more fans.
The official 'M! Countdown' logo has also been completely revamped as you can see above.
