A contestant with a YG Entertainment-style singing technique is taking the stage on MBC's 'King of Mask Singer.'

Later tonight, on December 31 KST, the program will bid farewell to 2023 with its final episode of the year.

During the episode, a masked singer believed to be a member of YG Entertainment's newly debuted girl group BABYMONSTER will take the stage. While the episode has yet to air, multiple media reports have pointed out that TREASURE member Hyunsuk, a YG labelmate serving as a panelist, was the first to suspect the singer's identity as a member of BABYMONSTER. Fellow panelist Sandara Park, who debuted with 2NE1 under YG also agreed, saying, "The singing style is undeniably YG."

If their predictions are correct, this will be the very first time a BABYMONSTER member has appeared on a broadcast since the group's debut last month. As previously reported, the group did not appear on any music shows following their debut, a decision that had come with much surprise from the public.

The rumor that a BABYMONSTER member may be appearing on 'King of Mask Singer' has since become a hot topic on social media, with fans making conjectures over which member they might be if they are a BABYMONSTER member at all.
