The six-member girl group under High Up Entertainment, STAYC — composed of members SIEUN, SEEUN, ISA, YOON, SUMIN, and J — made their 2nd comeback for the year 2023 with their 3rd mini-album 'TEENFRESH,' which features the playful title track "Bubble." This came six months after the release of their 4th single album 'Teddy Bear.'

Recently, the sextet successfully wrapped up its inaugural world tour in the US, aptly titled 'TEENFRESH,' with cities including New York, Chicago, San Antonio, Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. They will then kick off their Asia tour in 2024 with three cities revealed so far: Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

With 'Korea on Stage' celebrating its 4th anniversary in London, the girls of STAYC are ready to captivate the audience as they will be on stage as part of the momentous show, joining artists in the lineup such as ATEEZ, P1HARMONY, Xdinary Heroes, JANNABI, Lee Young Ji, xikers, BOYNEXTDOOR, Yageum Yageum, and Henry Moodie, with Gong Seung Yeon as its MC.

Hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), and MyMusicTaste; ‘Korea On Stage In London — celebrating 140 years of UK-Korea relations’ is scheduled to take place on November 8 at the OVO Arena Wembley in London.

allkpop had the opportunity to sit down with STAYC ahead of the 'Korea on Stage in London' to talk about live performances and meeting their fans, SWITH.

allkpop: Hi, STAYC! Tell us about your 2023 so far. Do you still have any activities you have yet to do for the rest of the year that you’re aiming for or working right now? 

SUMIN: 2023 was a challenging year. We were able to try a lot of projects from our first concert and our world tour. For the remainder of the year, I would like to wrap up this year by gathering around with my members and chatting and relaxing.

allkpop: You’re set to perform at the ‘Korea on Stage in London.’ How do you prepare for this large-scale performance? Could you please share with us your usual pre-show preparations and routines?

ISA: In terms of performances, if there is a new performance, I keep reviewing the routine so I don’t make a mistake live. I always try my best to keep my body condition at its finest, so I tend to take things easily, take my vitamins, and massage my face with a gua sha!

allkpop: This event is special since it’s a commemoration of the 140-year relationship between the UK and Korea. How does it feel to be a part of this event or milestone?

SEEUN: We are so honored to be a part of this meaningful event in London! It’s our first time in London as well, so we will try our best to give our best performance!

allkpop: What should we expect from your upcoming performance at the ‘Korea on Stage in London’? What are you most excited about? 

YOON: Of course, we have our songs, but we also prepared a special cover stage of “WANNA BE” from the Spice Girls! I’m nervous because it is our first time, but we hope you like them!

allkpop: What do you usually do to improve your skills performance-wise? In what ways do you continue to develop your vocal and dance skills?

J: I think the answer is to keep practicing! I sometimes feel like in some performances weren't able to show our 100% from what we have done during practice, so we try to take as much of what we have done in practice to the stage.

allkpop: Being on stage for a festival and being on stage for a solo concert feels different, right? What’s the feeling of taking the stage with the other groups’ fans in front of you, aside from your fans, SWITHs? Do you feel more pressure, or do you feel more motivated and excited to show the audience what STAYC has got?

SIEUN: Hmm… I feel like I feel more motivated and excited [to perform at a festival]! It is an opportunity to show STAYC to more people, and also we get to see the performances of artists and have fun, so I think it is much better!

allkpop: Speaking of your performance in London, what are you excited about doing in the city?

ISA: I look forward to the beautiful culture and the scenery of London!

allkpop: You said in our exclusive interview back in 2022 that you hope to meet more of your overseas fans. Now that you’ve achieved that goal, what is the next big goal you guys are working toward achieving?

SUMIN: Our goal is to meet more fans from around the world, and deliver our music!

allkpop: Do you have any messages to your fans attending the upcoming event or just a general message to your fans worldwide?
