Actor Shin Hyun Joon shared that he still feels sorry for slapping Kim Tae Hee so hard even after twenty years.
On February 20, Shin Hyun Joon sat down for an interview ahead of the premiere of the movie 'The Assassin.' During the interview, Shin Hyun Joon reminisced about the drama 'Stairway to Heaven' that aired ba 2003. 'Stairway to Heaven' is a popular drama that still garners attention today.
Shin Hyun Joon shared, "The thing that left the deepest impression was when I had to slap Kim Tae Hee in the face. At that time, Kim Tae Hee was a super rookie. But then there were so many scenes where I had to hit her. So I still feel sorry about it."
He continued to explain, "The director told us that I needed to slap her really hard for the scene to work. So I hit her really hard. It was when she just debuted so it was a time when she was a rookie that wasn't well aware of things. It must have been really hard for her but she really did well."
The actor even recalled the drama's popularity and shared, "When 'Starway to Heaven' aired, the viewer ratings were over 40%. I believe the attention it received corresponded with the amount of hard work we put into filming it. I'm thankful because there are still young people who watch the drama even now and become so emotionally invested that they cry when they see me."
You know, stuff like this (being on the receiving end) is something some actors tell as like a joke to laugh at now. For example: "I wasn't always an actor, I used to get paid to get slapped". So, I'm curious what she says about it now.
