On November 11, actress/model Jung Ho Yeon held her first solo fan meeting in the Philippines as the global ambassador of IAM Worldwide. The event, which attracted many fans, was held at the New Frontier Theater and began with a "Tug of War" game played by lucky selected fans. The winning team had the opportunity to take part in a photo opportunity after the show.
Jung Ho Yeon appeared on stage wearing a lovely white dress and bursting with otherworldly visuals. The fan event kicked off with a segment called "Just Hear You," during which the celebrity answered questions from the audience. Ho Yeon responded that she is actually an adventurous person, and when she started modeling and traveling the world, that is why she did pursue acting despite already being a successful international model. She was able to observe and interact with many people from diverse backgrounds, which is why she chose to pursue acting so she could learn about and encounter different life experiences.
The actress said, "I didn't expect this. I really didn't expect that the show will be successful" when discussing the enormous success of 'Squid Game,' which saw her popularity soar. She then added that because of the series' immense success, it gave her a foresight that it will open a lot of doors for her, relaying her gratitude afterward, "I'm looking forward to that opportunity."
Ho Yeon admitted that she felt a lot of pressure being named the "World's Current It Girl" in 2021 when asked how she felt about the title. The actress revealed, "I'm a little anxious most of the time." She continued by saying, "It's an honor to be named and recognized as "It Girl," thanking everyone for their enthusiasm and support.
When asked what her secret to staying healthy was, Ho Yeon replied, "I make sure I take my IAM Worldwide vitamins, and sleep and water are also very important, so I make sure I get enough of those." She continued by saying that she organizes and processes her thoughts for her mental health.
In March of this year, Jung Ho Yeon was formally introduced as IAM Worldwide's ambassador. The actress responded, "The people behind IAM Worldwide have been so nice and I've been treated so warmly," when asked what it was like working with the company. She continued, "IAM Worldwide gives importance to inner beauty and I have had fun working with them."
The audience was then asked to participate in a game using their phones to answer questions about the actress, with the winner receiving a photo opportunity with Ho Yeon at the end of the fan meet. The game was named "The Speed Fame."
Ho Yeon discussed her experience in the nine-episode Netflix original series "Squid Game" during the segment. Jung Ho Yeon, who plays Kang Sae Byeok, Player 067, a North Korean defector who joined "Squid Game" in hopes of reuniting with her family, captured viewers' attention for her impressive and cool acting. People loved the character and even the actress because of her fierce and captivating performance, which helped her reach a significant career milestone. "There are different aspects of mine that came out. Sae Byeok is a very interesting character for me," said Ho Yeon.
The following segment, called "Bring It Yeon," featured videos that were shown on a large screen while the actress gave her thoughts on each one afterward. When the clip of her winning speech was shown where she won the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for her role in Squid Game at the 28th 'Screen Actors Guild Awards,' which also marked her first-ever SAG nomination and win, the actress shared, "When I heard my name, my mind completely went blank. I remembered sitting there for a long time because I couldn't believe it," she said and added that she thought of what she had to say and that one thing she remembered that time is to make sure to thank all the people I've had worked with in 'Squid Game.'
"That was my first time acting. I wanted to contribute to making this show great. I don't have any goal to win any award," said Ho Yeon.
In response to a question about her free time and how she spends it, the actress said, "To be honest, I don't have that much of a break, but I'm planning to get free time around December." She continued, "I just want to lie down and do nothing. I just want to watch movies and dramas and spend my time with my loved ones." The actress also said that when given a chance and the opportunity, she'd like to visit Boracay and Cebu.
On her appearance in The Weeknd's music video for "Out of Time," Ho Yeon said that she was invited to star in the music video, "I'm a fan of The Weeknd. I like the song." She went on to add, "Sorry to say but singing is not my thing. Hopefully, next time, I will be born as Beyoncé."
Ho Yeon on the making of the IAM Worldwide commercial: "When I looked at the commercial, I was very satisfied with the outcome, but at the same time I'm embarrassed and shy seeing myself."
Ho Yeon had to choose between two options that flashed on the screen for the upcoming segment, "Jung One & Only." Ho Yeon chose "10 bad takes for one movie scene" over "Slip on a fashion runway," adding, "I've never slipped on a runway." When asked which she would prefer: becoming famous for something embarrassing or becoming rich for something weird, the actress picked the latter. Between chilling continuously because of super cold weather or continuously sweating due to super hot weather, Ho Yeon chose the former, "I think cold can be dealt with easily but sweating is kind of hard to manage."
When asked whether she would like to try exotic food or bungee jumping, Ho Yeon shared, "Bungee jumping is on my bucket list. I only tried skydiving before. I was scared but I want that kind of extreme thing." Between taking a European cruise with friends or going on an adventure trip with family, the actress said that she would rather choose to take a European cruise with her friends, "I recently traveled with my family. When you're planning, it's exciting, but when you're on the trip, there are so many arguments."
The actress had the choice of opting for eight hours of sleep or a buffet of her favorite foods, she chose the former. Ho Yeon revealed that she would choose a trip to her dream destination, which is currently Boracay, over an expensive, limited edition watch if given a choice. Between no internet signal or 1% battery left, the actress chose the former, "I can't live without internet because I play a lot of phone games."
Two lucky fans were chosen to choose between asking a question about work, career, family, or life to Jung Ho Yeon for the final segment of the fan meeting named "Yeon-boseyo." When a fan selected the topic of life and asked Ho Yeon for one piece of advice, she gave the answer, "Just keep going."
The second lucky fan chose family, and Ho Yeon was asked how she balanced work and family time. "To be honest, I'm so bad at balancing work and family. Just the fact that my family is just here for me no matter what happens, that just keeps me energy," said Ho Yeon, adding that she should thank her family more often.
Jung Ho Yeon's solo fan meeting in the Philippines was presented by IAM Worldwide and Wilbros Live.
