From the same survival show that brought us our beloved I.O.I, Wanna One, and IZ*ONE, X1 was also formed from the same 'Produce' series. Fans were anticipating how big this group was going to Fly High. They did become rookie monsters, breaking 7 records right after debuting. The 7 achievements include; the fastest boy group debut MV to reach 100 million views on YouTube, joining the lineup of the only boy groups who ranked no.1 in MeLOn with a debut track, entering the Billboard Social 50 without any releases yet, and being the fastest K-Pop group to record first win in a music show after debut.
Unfortunately, their time was cut short, having to abruptly go into hiatus in around November of 2019 and then officially disbanding in January 2020, making them active for only a little over 4 months. Despite not being together anymore, these boys are still working hard as idols and always leaving us some X1 crumbs, giving OneIts some happiness.
Let's take a look at where the X1 members are now, so we can give them just as much love as we did when they were together.
Prior to competing in Produce X 101, X1's leader, Han Seungwoo, was also the leader of the group VICTON, where fellow member Choi Byungchan also took part in the show. Seungwoo returned to VICTON and participated in 3 releases with the group, along with one solo album, before enlisting in his mandatory military service.
Known as Cho Seungyoun both in the survival and during X1's promotion, this all-rounder member is also known as WOODZ. He first rose to fame as the main rapper and sub-vocalist of the South Korean-Chinese boy band Uniq, competed in a rap competition show, Show Me the Money, under the stage name Luizy, and then did some solo work as WOODZ before competing in Produce X 101. He is currently a soloist under the name WOODZ and is blowing fans away with his versatile creativity and talent.
Along with fellow contestant Jinhyuk, both of them debuted in 2015 with the group UP10TION. Although Wooseok did not resume activities with his group, he is officially still part of the group and is currently promoting solo. He has released three solo albums and has been dipping his toes in the acting scene. He was in several web dramas and was part of the main cast of the tvN drama, Bulgasal: Immortal Souls.
Nation's number 1 pick, Kim Yohan, debuted with his group WEi in October 2020. WEi consists of six members, all of which all have competed in a survival show. Members, Daehyeon and Donghan were contestants in the second season of Produce 101, Yongha and Junseo were contestants in Under Nineteen, and both Yohan and Seokhwa competed in Produce X 101. Seokhwa was also a YG Entertainment trainee who participated in YG Treasure Box. The group recently finished their first-ever world tour. Yohan also starred in the drama School 2021 and A Love So Beautiful; a web series streamed on Netflix.
Both Hangyul and Dohyon being from the same company, both got to stick and debut together. The two debuted as a duo, H&D, in April 2020 with an EP titled Soulmate, before debuting with the group BAE173 in November 2020, consisting of 9 members. The group recently released their fourth EP, Odyssey: Dash, with the title track DaSH.
Debuting in the same month as Yohan's group, Junho re-debuted in a 7-member group, DRIPPIN. All of the members except for Alex competed in Produce X 101. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, fans were happy to see Junho reunited with the other Woollim trainees again and debuting together. The group has released 3 EPs, 2 single albums and is set to release their first full album this November.
The cutest member and Seungwoo's son in the show, Dongpyo, debuted with the group MIRAE in March 2021 alongside member Lee Junhyuk, who also participated in the survival show. The group's debut music video gained more than 10 million views and sold more than 26,000 copies of their EP within the first week of the group's debut, earning them the title of "2021 Super Rookies."
Minhee and Hyeongjun are the fastest two to re-debut. These two re-debuted with the group CRAVITY, in April 2020, with 7 other members, where 2 of them, Jungmo and Wonjin, also competed alongside Minhee and Hyeongjun in Produce X 101. The group charted at number 12 on the Billboard Social 50 Chart and became the fifth fastest South Korean group to enter Social 50, as well as being the only South Korean rookie artist to chart on Billboard's Social 50 in 2020. They also performed at KCON LA 2022 and participated in the KCON 2022 US TOUR, where they performed in six cities around the US, before returning to Korea and releasing their fourth mini album, New Wave, and receiving their first and second music show win.
Eunsang made his solo debut in August 2020 with the single album Beautiful Scar, where he collaborated with his labelmate-senior, AB6IX Park Woojin, who was also part of Wanna One. He then gave the biggest X1 crumbs by collaborating with Kim Wooseok for the single "Memories," in October. Almost a year after, he released his second single album Beautiful Sunshine before finally debuting with the group Younite in April 2022, making him the last member to re-debut in a group.
