A market intelligence report shows that Jimin was the Most-Mentioned solo artist worldwide in May
Since the release of the 'With You' OST, Jimin has been the focal point in discussions regarding any matters concerning music. The song set new records on various major music buying, streaming, and discovery platforms from as early as just an hour after its release, and the record-breaking streak has been consistent all through the month of May. In fact, the song debuted at #2 on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs chart in its first week despite having had just four days and 10 hours of tracking. It then ascended to the top spot in its second tracking week and has maintained this position for three weeks in a row as of now. This chart is powered by Twitter.
'With You' is also immensely popular on Instagram and TikTok as, so far, it has been used in over 94k videos/reels and 130k videos, respectively, on the platforms. It is, in fact, the most used official audio by a BTS member in 2022 on Instagram already, a feat that it achieved in under two weeks following its release [refer here].
Considering the performance of the song on Twitter, Instagram, and Tiktok, the results of the NetBase Quid report that uses consumer and market intelligence data could have been foreseen.
On May 28, the NetBase Quid platform released its ranking for the most mentioned artist worldwide on social media for the month of May, whereby Jimin placed 2nd only after BTS. He was thus the most mentioned solo artist for the month of May, surpassing world-class superstars such as Taylor Swift and Harry Styles and hence showing his power and impact as an individual artist.
This comes even as 'With You' continues to receive massive support from radio shows and the public, showing how much the song captivated the audience and how Jimin's artistry is highly appreciated. South Korea has especially played the song numerous times on various radio shows and in different shopping stores.
Recently, the song was heard playing in the playground of a local school, and its success on global music charts was reported on YTN's K-Now segment.
Additionally, a famous Indonesian model, actor, and presenter used the song in a 'Thank You' video for her husband on a special birthday surprise, which she posted on Instagram, and a video posted on TikTok showed fans singing along to the song in a gathering in Peru.
Previous occasions have seen the song played, featured, and reported on by numerous media outlets both in South Korea and globally [read here, here, and here].
With such results that have come from only an unpromoted OST, fans cannot help but be excited at the thought of the kind of impact Jimin would make with a fully promoted solo project!
Global IT Boy, Park Jimin!
