According to a February 20 The Fact report, Fan Bingbing recently appeared as a cameo in the drama 'Insider' that is scheduled to air on the JTBC network. Fan Bingbing is garnering much interest for her visit to Korea and her cameo appearance in the Korean drama since she has once caused a big controversy in China. It has also been reported this is Fan Bingbing's first time appearing in a Korean drama.

A broadcast official, who requested to remain anonymous, confirmed to The Fact reporter that Fan Bingbing came to Korea in secret, saying, "It is true that Pan Bingbing came to Korea earlier this year and filmed her part as a cameo in the Korean drama 'Insider." Meanwhile, 'Insider' is a drama starring Kang Ha Neul and Lee Yoo Young. It is a drama that is scheduled to air later this year and has already completed most of the filming.

Another broadcasting official also confirmed that Fan Bingbing will be appearing in a Korean drama and stated, "I know that Fan Bingbing is staying in Korea after filming the drama. The filming was conducted in a way that no outsider was allowed to enter the film site." The official continued to elaborate, "The authority to cast actors rests with the production company or the chief producer, but we can't confirm at this time how Fan Bingbing decided to appear in this drama."

The production team of the JTBC drama also admitted that Fan Bingbing made a special appearance in the drama 'Insider.' In a phone call with The Fact, a member of the production team stated, "It's true that Fan Bingbing made a special appearance in the drama. However, please understand that we cannot give you the specific details for various reasons."

Fan Bingbing was previously embroiled in a worldwide controversy starting with her tax evasion issues to rumors that she had disappeared thereafter. However, she returned to the screen through the Hollywood film '355' starring Jessica Chastain, Diane Kruger, Penélope Cruz, and Lupita Nyong'o. In the film, Fan Bingbing took on the role of a Chinese agent. The movie finished filming last year, but the premiere was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was released in the United States on January 7 and released in South Korea on February 9.
