In an update posted via A.C.E's official fan cafe, Beat Interactive stated,
"A.C.E member Kim Byeongkwan will begin his mandatory military service duties beginning on Monday, April 11, after passing the examination process to serve in the KATUSA: Korean Augmentation to the United States Army; he will be carrying out his service for approximately a year and 6 months. The exact time and location of Byeongkwan's enlistment will be kept private, and fans will not be permitted to visit the site as Byeongkwan plans on enlisting quietly. This decision was reached for the health and safety of everyone, so we ask for your cooperation. We also ask fans for their warm love and encouragements until the day that Byeongkwan returns safely after completing his mandatory service duties. Thank you."
Meanwhile, A.C.E's Byeongkwan is now the second ever K-Pop idol to serve as the member of the KATUSA for his mandatory military service duties. In order to pass the KATUSA examination, candidates must demonstrate English proficiency, as KATUSA solders work closely with the U.S. army station in Korea.
Currently, A.C.E members Donghun, Wow, and Jun are carrying out their mandatory military service duties. Byeongkwan will be the 4th member of his group to enlist come this April.
So proud of our Kim Byeongkwan!
