BTS has won 'Album of the Year' at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), making it their fourth consecutive year winning the same prestigious award!
On the 2021 MAMA held at CJ ENM Studio Center in Paju city on December 2021, BTS was awarded the Daesang for their album "BE". Among the many awards, the 'Album of the Year' award is considered one of the biggest awards awarded on this ceremony.
BTS won their first 'Album of the Year' in 2018 with "Love Yourself: Tear." Subsequently, they won the same award with two albums of the same series, "Map Of The Soul: PERSONA" and "Map Of The Soul: 7."
In particular, "BE" which was released in November last year, is an album that captures the time when everyone feels helpless due to the COVID-19 pandemic; That despite anxiety and fear, "we still have to overcome it."
BTS, who recently returned home from a LA concert in the U.S., was unfortunately absent from the awards ceremony because they are self-quarantining and on an official vacation.
Along with BTS's "BE," aespa's "Savage," IU's "Lilac" and NCT 127's "Sticker" were also nominated and competed in the category of 'Album of the Year.
Congratulations BTS and stay tuned for more updates!
