Kakao Entertainment will be moving forward with the merger of its two major music subsidiaries, Play M Entertainment and Cre.Ker Entertainment.
According to media outlet reports on September 17, the merger decision was agreed upon during a recent board meeting on both sides. Kakao is currently seeking to establish a new major music label led by Play M Entertainment's Jang Hyun Jin and Cre.Ker Entertainment's Yoon Young Ro, boosting investment, dedicating more time and effort toward the musical capabilities of label artists, discovering new talents, and applying innovative IP content creation technology.
Meanwhile, Play M Entertainment is home to artists including A Pink, VICTON, and Weeekly. Cre.Ker Entertainment is known as the home of The Boyz.
If 3/4th of these listed groups can keep coming with "A game" material, I think that would be a good look for this agency.
