Singer Baek Ye Rin has set her Instagram account to private, after a back and forth between fans regarding an unreleased track.
Back in 2017, Baek Ye Rin performed an unreleased track titled "Square" during a music festival. Despite the fact that the song was never released, the track garnered much attention online.
Then, on May 5, Baek Ye Rin posted a lengthy explanation of response to those who have been badgering her about the release of "Square".
She wrote:
"There have been numerous questions and requests regarding the release of 'Square', so I am posting this as a response. For me, 'Square' is starting to become one of those songs I just don't want to release. I wrote the track like every other track, working on it normally, and one reason I made it was that I thought I wanted to perform something new after performing my 'regulars' for each performance. The best part was.. the feelings I felt while singing this song, and the fact that it was a performance where I was able to share openly with many people while performing this song, so it is also a song that holds a lot of good memories and moments for me too! But unfortunately, due to some people's misunderstandings or negative, incorrect speculations about the song's lyrics, there were times where I felt stressed; and the most important reason is that at the time, the performance, those feelings, the weather, and all of those things combined created such a beautiful stage, but I felt that the version that I recorded in the studio could not become a better version of the song. So I don't think it will be included in this next album I plan to release soon. It is a song where I need to ponder a little longer about how to make it a better product, so for any of you who were waiting for it, you'll have to wait a while longer! To my beautiful fans who are always waiting for me and watch over me warmly, thank you!"
However, despite Baek Ye Rin's lengthy post, it seems that some netizens continued to demand the release of "Square". As a result, the singer took to her Instagram once again to "call out" those who sent her comments such as, "Please release 'Square' TTT" and "Unnieeeee, please release 'Square'...".
Baek Ye Rin wrote above such comments, "Even though I asked you all to stop asking me with such a long post, there are always those who cross the line so easily~"
Since then, the singer's Instagram has been set to private, seemingly as a measure against netizens criticizing her "shading" her own fans.
Meanwhile, you can find Baek Ye Rin's 2017-version of "Square" below.
