According to Segye Ilbo, the rule was that SISTAR will disband if at least one of the members expresses their wish to leave the group.
A rep from their agency explained that the member who wanted to proceed with the disbandment was Hyorin, who has a strong passion for her solo career. The rep stated, "Now or later, her wish will be the same even if they promote as a girl group for several more years. I think that's why she brought up the courage to disband."
Hyorin is well known for her amazing vocals and has also recently completed her solo North American tour. It's reported that she wants to expand her singing career as a solo artist and her members and agency decided to respect her decision.
As a result, the members have come to a fair agreement to go their separate ways. Hyorin, Bora, and Soyu will continue their careers as singers while Dasom will shift gears into acting.
