During the rap battle, myunDo unfortunately slipped up with his lyrics, while Taewoon delivered a solid performance. Judges like Mad Clown and The Quiett praised Taewoon for his stage, which they thought were "the best Taewoon has done yet". However, after voting, the two rappers ended up in a tie, and they proceeded to partake in not one, not two, but three more rematch rounds. Ultimately, myunDO was voted as the winner.
Netizens seem to believe that myunDO's lyric slip up in the original match should have led to Taewoon moving up without a rematch. Currently, online communities are calling out 'Show Me The Money 5' for considering "friendship" and "connections" more important than skills, mocking it with titles like 'Show Me The Connections'.
Fingers seem to be pointing more directly toward illionaire's Dok2, who has shown fondness toward myunDO since the 2nd round. Netizens bombarded Dok2's Instagram with comments like, "Even if you didn't like Taewoon, you shouldn't have put friendship first... If they were good enough to tie 3 times, myunDO should have been eliminated in the first place for forgetting his lyrics, now it just looks like you all just stalled until myunDO did well enough to pass him", "If you're a judge you should act like a judge", and more.
The netizens also pointed out that it was unnecessary for Leessang's Gil to give Taewoon one of the hats that the judges give to contestants who pass, simply as a "consolation prize". Viewers of the show added that even before they began the match, the judges made a series of snarky remarks about how myunDO would "shave Taewoon" and more.
Block B's Zico also seems to have tuned in to the most recent episode, and went on his brother Taewoon's Instagram to comment on the results with, "Overlooking the fact that I'm your younger brother, you were just better."
Do you think the judges were showing favoritism toward myunDO on today's 'Show Me The Money 5'?
