Korea has had a longstanding feud with Japan on the issue of 'comfort women,' a euphemism for the Korean women who were coerced into sexual slavery by Japanese soldiers.
Many attempts at negotiations and demands for apology all led to a dead end, failing to improve the already strained political relationship between the two nations. Though this ongoing tension may be pervasive throughout East Asia, not many foreigners are aware of it.
Thus, one Korean YouTuber took matters into his own hands to educate foreigners on some of the horrors the comfort women endured through a documentary. The video, full of graphic imagery and the raw testimonies of the remaining comfort women, is one that will make you get emotional--but that is kind of the point. I think it might be a bit sensational and dare I say near propagandistic.
