Netizens, do not believe this one bit, and think YG had a last minute change of heart. In addition, they believe everything was meticulously planned from the start, so that YG could test the waters for negative feedback on Bom's scandal, and also have a way out if things turned bad.
Below are the 4 reasons why netizens believe YG may choose CL instead of 2NE1 for the 11/21 comeback and how YG carefully crafted this experiment:
1) 2NE1's Park Bom making appearances in and out of YG Entertainment
The singer seems to have come out of hiding with 2NE1's fast-approaching comeback. Park Bom was seen last month leaving the YG building, and recently, fans have discovered additional photos of her! Much like the last time, the photos show the singer going in and out of YG Entertainment's head quarters.
This apparently was carefully crafted, so netizens would notice Park Bom coming to the YG headquarters and assume a 2NE1 comeback was imminent. Along with the 11/21 teaser date, YG was testing to see if there would be any negative feedback with Park Bom coming back.
Unfortunately, already the general public has been reigniting her drug use scandal across social media and message boards and it seems they are still not ready to move on, which may have changed the plans for 2NE1's comeback and to go with CL's solo.

2) Mysterious post on CL's Instagram account
A blurred out image with the caption "ALL OR NOTHING" was posted on CL's account. "ALL OR NOTHING" was the title of 2NE1's latest album. The image has since been deleted and replaced by numerous other photos. Netizens are speculating that this happened because plans for a 2NE1 comeback were changed at the last minute. They believe CL had posted this, because a 2NE1 comeback was really happening, until YG changed his mind.
3) Minzy opens up her own dance studio 'Millennium Dance Academy'!
Minzy had recently opened up her own dance studio academy. Many of you might say this is nothing important and that numerous idols have opened other businesses. But the general side businesses that idols open are, chicken stores, coffee shops, or restaurants. Businesses, where the idols don't really have to be involved in. A dance studio however, aligned with Minzy's brand, would require her to be around a lot more often. Netizens are speculating Minzy already knew the 50/50 fate of 2NE1, so she opened up her dance academy as an "insurance" plan.
4) STATEMENT FROM YANG HYUN SUK
On Oct 3rd Papa YG stated "As of now, we are focusing on CL's American debut. After she does well [in America], we will think about [plans for] 2NE1." He added, "2NE1 is contracted until next year."
Well, the dongA.com report isn't saying CL will be making her American debut, and instead will be doing a solo comeback in Korea. This has raised quite a few eyebrows, because it seems like a last minute substitution for 2NE1, yet still somewhat aligned with his original Oct 3rd statement.
Basically, netizens believe YG planned his statements starting from Oct, so that he could test the waters by releasing teasers and evidence almost guaranteeing a 2NE1 comeback, yet have a scape goat to fall on if the feedback and scandal issues were still negative.
If this is the case, YG should no longer be considered a troll, but a master of marketing and manipulation.
What do you guys thinks of these netizen theories? Is it too much conspiracy or do they make sense logically?
