Actors Lee Bum Soo and Siwan have been cast in new MBC Monday & Tuesday drama 'Triangle,' which will air following the conclusion of 'Empress Qi' in May if things go according to plan.
'Triangle' will be the first time in five years that writer Choi Wan Kyu and producer Yoo Cheol Yong worked together, some of their previous masterpieces include 'All In' and 'Swallow the Sun.' Their new project is a melodrama centering on three brothers who've lost their parents and lived apart for over 20 years when they are fated to meet again as brothers.
Writer Choi Wan Kyu said, "I plan on discovering the writing techniques and new means of addressing the classic subject: 'Even though the world and social conditions may change, the strength from true love is forever.'"
Lee Bum Soo will be playing the oldest brother, Jang Dong Soo, who is an investigator under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency while Siwan will be playing the youngest brother, Jang Dong Joon, who was adopted into a wealthy family and was much better cared for than his older brothers. However, in order to hide the trauma that comes with not knowing when his adoptive lifestyle may dissolve, Jang Dong Joon maintains a cold and cynical exterior.
