Comedian Kim Kyung Min pleaded for netizens to stop leaving negative comments for the sake of his wife.
Originally, the comedian had been the target of the hate comments when it was reported that he had been arrested because of assaulting his wife. However, both Kim Kyung Min and his wife stepped forward to say that Kim Kyung Min had never hit his wife, and that his wife had called the police only to teach him a lesson after an argument. It was revealed that someone within the police department had heard about the case and had misunderstood the situation. The false information was then revealed to the media outlets and thus an argument had been reported as assault.
Although the two clarified that there was no assault, many netizens still left their own opinions on the matter on various articles with some speculating this to be a cover up as it seemed rather strange that the wife would call the police over just an argument, while some criticized the wife for calling the police over frivolous matters. Having read the comments, Kim Kyung Min's wife seems to be having a hard time dealing with the situation.
The comedian said, "Please have mercy. My wife is dying. She keeps saying she's going to commit suicide. She's become so sensitive and weak that it's hard to watch her. I feel so sorry for her. Yesterday she spent the entire night reading every hate comment and crying. I've said before that she didn't sleep for 30 hours, but she hasn't slept again today. I have to go to the police station, but I'm worried because I don't know what my wife would do. Please stop writing hate comments. A person may die. I try to keep her from reading, but I don't know how to use a computer so it's hard."

Words are powerful and should be used wisely even on the internet where one's identity can be easily disguised. Let's not use the internet as a place to promote hate, but rather let's take a stand to create more positive content that can fill the internet with more love and peace rather than negativity and hate.
