Entertainer Noh Hong Chul revealed the story behind his assault incident back in 2008.
In the most recent filming of KBS 2TV's 'Story Show Do Dream', Noh Hong Chul, along with Kim C and Lee Hae Young, hosted the show as the MCs. During the recording, Professor Pyo Chang Won, a forensic psychologist, asked the MCs to recall an incident.
On February 19th of 2008, "Kim", a 27-year-old man suffering from a mental disorder, attacked Noh Hong Chul unprovoked. The star sustained injuries to his ribs and a 1.2 inch (3cm) rip in his left ear. Instead of fighting back, Noh Hong Chul was caught on security cameras comforting the man instead. He also decided not to press charges, earning him the nickname "angel" from netizens. He later revealed that he was too afraid to react so he simply endured the beating.
Noh Hong Chul revealed, "During my assault, I just kept getting hit. I even heard them say, 'You should fight back. Attack!'" After listening to Noh Hong Chul's story, Professor Pyo responded, "You have coped very well," praising him for overcoming such a horrific experience.
This episode of 'Do Dream', which features Professor Pyo, comedian Jung Joo Ri, and director Kim Soo Yong, will air on May 5th at 10:05pm KST.
